For a home that has fed dozens upon dozens of little mouths over years, this kitchen is arguably the most important room in the house. While going through project development, we learn the most important aspects for each room and naturally the kitchen has quite a few.
We first learn what is most important, but also what isn’t working for the existing space. For this homeowner, who runs an in-home daycare, the kitchen was too open to little hands and there wasn’t much for countertop prep space. Other goals were to have better view of the kids while playing in the yard and to still have a good amount of seating, a small space to still operate the business, have a farm-house style sink, and maintain the farmhouse look.
The fun built in baby gate was the cherry on top to keep those little hands safe during meal prep times.
